dpkg-sig software package provides create and verify signatures on .deb-files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dpkg-sig
dpkg-sig is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dpkg-sig package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dpkg-sig *
You will get with dpkg-sig package name, version, architecture and description in a table
